Snowy days

Last winter was very mild in Toronto compared to this year. It's still not crazy cold, but at least we got some snow and it has been freezing most of the days. On Friday we got around 25-30 cm of snow  and that in 1 day. You can imagine the chaos on the streets. We are spoiled in Finland, where we are used to clean streets immediately when you wake up in the morning. It was therefore interesting to see that most of the side streets like our street was still not cleaned in the afternoon. Pedestrians had to make their own paths and it felt like a workout to walk home from the subway station. In Canada home owners are obliged to take care of the snow removal in front of their houses and are also liable for accidents that happen if they haven't cleaned it properly. So the sidewalk can look sometimes very interesting. Saturday and today have been beautiful days, with blue skies and the sun shining. Everyone was outside, sleighing on the hill or just walking in the woods. We also made a long walk yesterday and took some nice pictures. Unfortunately this snow won't be here for long, because tomorrow it will get warmer and rain :( Next weekend we will visit Montreal, where there definitely will be snow!
